Most Fuel Efficient Car - Tata MegaPixel

When the common man is burdened with steep increase in fuel prices and the whole world  thinking about fuel conservation techniques, Tata Motors is busy behind a major car project that has surprised the world with its fuel efficiency figure and unique technology.

We are talking about Tata Mega Pixel car that can deliver up to 100 kilometres from a litre of fuel by using a unique combination of technology! This concept car was revealed at the Geneva motor show this year by Tata motors and is expected to be commercially launched in around three years from now.

This new innovation is meant for city driving and is a 4 seater global range extended electric vehicle (REEV). The car combines a lithium ion phosphate battery and an on-board petrol engine generator for recharging on the move. As per company sources, Tata Megapixel offers a range of up to 900 km with a single tank of fuel and fuel economy of 100 km/litre under battery only power. It uses an easy induction system for charging. To charge, the car has to be simply parked over the induction pad.

The Megapixel's electric drive has four independent electric motors, one at each wheel. To make parking easier, the electric hub motors drive the wheels in opposite directions, while the front wheels are turned at an acute angle, enabling a 2.8 metre turning radius.
