BMW Active Hybrid X6 Features & Overviews
Only in its second year on the market, the ActiveHybrid X6 seeks to blend the personality of a coupe with the utility of a crossover. In line with a coupe’s sleek styling, the roof line slopes steeply; this translates into greatly reduced headroom and cargo space.
This four-seater features BMW’s brand-new hybrid system, which was developed jointly with GM and the former DaimlerChrysler. This system produces a combined total of 480 horsepower — a big jump compared to the traditional X6, but the additional weight of this system counteracts any benefits from the additional power.

But you’re driving a hybrid for the gain in fuel economy, right? Well, thanks to all the extra weight, fuel efficiency increases only by 1 mpg over the traditional X6. The ActiveHybrid X6 comes in one well-equipped trim level containing such features as self-leveling suspension, parking sensors, sunroof, power tailgate, soft-close automatic doors, and automatic and adaptive headlights. Inside, you’ll be treated like royalty with a navigation system with traffic and voice control, leather upholstery and trim, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, head-up display, and 14-way power seats with heat, memory, and adjustable bolsters and lumbar. Options include heated steering wheel and rear seats, massaging and ventilated front seats, rear seat pass-through ski bag, and retractable headlight washers.
