A quick review on New Maruti Alto 800


Maruti Suzuki is finally coming out with new Alto 800 to compete with Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano. Bookings are already open and launch date is on october 16, 2012.

It seems like Maruti has taken various design elements from other cars to come out with new Alto 800! The front side looks like A star having a front grill as seen in Ford Figo.The side and rear end also resembles A star with new tail lamps and bumper. This car is likely to replace the existing 800 cc Alto model.

Few quick facts about the New Alto 800:

  • The car is powered by 796cc engine with petrol and CNG as option.
  • Exterior looks are inspired from A Star. You can see alot of 'A star' from all angle.
  • High-mounted petal-shaped headlights.
  • Dual Tone upholstery.
  • Light brown-beige interiors.
  • The car has grown taller giving more headroom inside.
  • The rear windows have become smaller.
  • More rear kneeroom.
  • New dashboard with circular side air vents and raised center air vents.
  • Front seats with integrated headrests.
  • A storage space above the glove box.
  • Power window switches in the central console.
  • Slot for speakers and a space for storage on the doors.
  • New steering wheel.
  • New gear box and new plastic intake system .
  • Will have 6 variants - three in CNG and three in Petrol.
  • Will come in 6 vibrant colors.
  • LXi variant will get a driver airbag and optional ABS.
  • Mileage around 22.7 Kmpl and CNG version around 31 Kmpl.
  • Estimated price: Between 2.2 Lakhs - 3.2 Lakhs (Petrol)  and between 3 Lakhs - 3.5 Lakhs (CNG).
